Chivas Studio puts city in spotlight

Deccan Chronicle, 29 June 2012

The city will get a glimpse of the Jaguar XJ at the Chivas Studio Spotlight event which also features origami artist Sachin George Sebastian, DJ Whossane and percussionist Jonqui. The event is a preview of Chivas Studio, a global creative, collaborative platform that showcases the best of contemporary art, fashion, photography, installation and performing arts under one umbrella.

Over the years, Chivas Studio has featured some of the leading contemporary artists, musicians, fashion designers from India and abroad. Spotlight is an illustration format of Chivas Studio, held over an evening across Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi, Pune, Chandigarh, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and many more through the year to keep the “Live with Chivalry” motto alive. Spotlight is an eclectic amalgamation of art, music, mixology and gourmet food which offers an unique experience.

Dj Whossane has been in the entertainment and sound business for over 20 years and has pioneered the dance scene in India. Jonqui is a multi-talented percussionist and plays the pakhwaj, Indian duff, Arabic duff, djembe, darbuka, and many more. Origami artist Sachin’s work is a collision of things he loves (nature, organic beauty, etc.) and things he resents (industrialization, concrete cityscape, etc.). Art Next will also display chosen art from their gallery at the event on Friday at N Asian.

Entry is by invitation only.
