Amarnath Sharma, originally hails from Bokaro, Bihar. He completed his BFA in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts, M.S. University, Baroda and also completed his masters in painting from the same faculty in 2002. The artist's perception of city life, and his reaction to situtaions comes through his visuals, in his paintings. The artist has recieved several awards which include, the Budh Bihar Society in 1995 as well as the Nasareen Mohmadini Award for Painting in 2000. He has also participated in several group shows which includes: in 2004, Group- Ungroup, Gallery 5 Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi; Looking Back, Looking Forward, Sarjan Art Gallery, Baroda; in 2003: Portrait Show, Sarjan Art Gallery, Baroda; A Positive Vision Contemporary Of Roses [Kalatmak], Sarjan Art Gallery, Baroda and Figurative Non- Figurative Narration, Art Auction by Osian, Mumbai and in 2002: Voices against Violence, Fine Arts Faculty, Baroda. He has attended various camps and workshops, including: in 2003 Chhapp, Workshop of Print making, Baroda and in 2000: Reliance World Painting organized by Visual Arts Group, Ahemdabad.
