In most of his works, Sanjoy Patra locates a figure, in most cases a human figure into a large horizon with an occasional introduction of an object or a motif. The body in question is interestingly treated like a landscape as well, spread vertically or horizontally across the picture space. As a result, we come across what one may call a doubled inscription, the body inscribing itself into space and history, and the form of signs, inscribed over the body.
