Durga Kainthola emerged as an artist with influence from various sources— initially inspired by Picasso, she later learnt the style of cubism. Dadaism taught her to reject the aesthetic standards by aiming to create anti-art. Photorealism and then pop-art opened her eyes to a wider vision of the world. A fusion of all these influences resulted in the culmination of her own style.
